RISE INTERACTIVE NEWSLETTER

Sepetember 2009

Hi Everyone,

The weather may be getting cooler, but with the start of football season, more demanding work schedules and the back-to-school excitement, Rise is getting ready to jump full-force into autumn. This newsletter highlights Internet marketing training services Rise can offer to those looking for resources to support in-house initiatives, a blog post reporting on Rise’s research into the accuracy of the Google Traffic Estimator (or lack thereof) and a fun Web site we recently came across.

Back to School

Summer is sadly coming to a close for school-goers and professionals alike. As office summer hours end and firms go back to normal schedules, it’s time to pick up the pace once again.

As you prepare for Q4 and/or 2010 initiatives, don’t forget Rise now offers training and advisory services to teach in-house marketers the intricate details of Internet marketing. The program is designed for those looking to implement and manage Internet marketing campaigns without the aid of an agency. It is completely customized to meet the clients’ needs, focusing on teaching skills to successfully market their site and improve its ROI. For those companies looking to reap incremental sales through search engine marketing, keep this in mind! You could see a substantial boost in traffic/conversions in time for the Holiday.

Cool Site of the Month

You have been sitting at your computer for a couple hours researching the best deal on a weekend getaway. You finally find that perfect package, and with much anticipation, click the “Buy Now” button. The next thing you know, you are staring at an error page and your hours of research are lost.

We know just how frustrating this is, so here is a Web site that will let you know if the URL is down for everyone or just you. Use Down for Everyone or Just Me to determine whether the situation is unique to you or not.

How Accurate is the Google Traffic Estimator?

The Google Traffic Estimator tool is used to help estimate your total media spend for upcoming paid search campaigns and to analyze if opportunities will be profitable. However, Rise recently began noticing discrepancies between the costs the Traffic Estimator was projecting compared to actual spend rates once a campaign was launched. This is concerning as we realize this widely-used tool may not be as accurate as most people perceive it to be.

After reaching out to our Google team and receiving little insight, Rise conducted our own test to get to the bottom of this.

To find out the results of the test, how the Google Traffic Estimator ranked after our research, and how this may affect your business, read the full Google Adwords Traffic Estimator Accuracy blog post.
