Meet the speakers:

Marcia Diaz de Villegas has been a healthcare marketing professional for the past 30 years. She is a graduate of Florida International University, where she obtained her degree in business administration. Before joining Nicklaus Children’s Health System, formerly known as Miami Children’s Hospital and Health System, she served as regional marketing coordinator for Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corporation. In her five-year tenure with Columbia/HCA, she also served as director of marketing for two facilities, Deering Hospital and Grant Center. Ms. Diaz de Villegas began her career in marketing with Charter Hospital of Miami, focusing on business development and coordination of community relations events for the Hispanic market. Throughout the years, Ms. Diaz de Villegas has received numerous awards of distinction for strategic advertising and communications. Her work with Miami Children’s Hospital, recently rebranded as Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, has received national acclaim and achieved the highest levels of preference/recognition. Ms. Diaz de Villegas’ efforts have been featured in the Healthcare Marketing Report, Children’s Hospitals Today, and the Florida Hospital Association. In 2017, she was listed as a Marketing Power Leader by the South Florida Business Journal. Ms. Diaz de Villegas is a member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development. She has served as an advisor in the development of national communications programs to educate consumers on pediatric health and safety issues.

As a seasoned internet professional, Robert has provided, counsel, research and marketing insight of web (Internet/Intranet/extranet) strategic initiatives for corporate entities in the healthcare, entertainment, real estate and broadcast sectors. Throughout his career, Robert has overseen the evaluation, implementation and the marketing technology needs of these same initiatives. He has a successful record of accomplishing large-scale web projects within budget and on time meeting deadlines. Robert has coordinated all aspects of design, web / content development and resource allocation for enterprise web initiatives. He finds his career to be rewarding due to its dynamic, challenging and engaging nature.

Julia Fitzgerald is the Chief Marketing Officer for the American Lung Association and serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team. As Chief Marketing Officer, Fitzgerald is responsible for creating innovative marketing strategies across the organization’s marketing, digital engagement, public relations and internal communications that enhance the Lung Association’s brand awareness among internal and external stakeholders.

Fitzgerald has served as a Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Executive with 20+ years of proven experience. She has led marketing, brand strategy, digital and communications at several national brands including Thermos, Sears, Kmart, Sylvan Learning, Vtech, Azek, and Hallmark Cards. She served as Chief Digital Engagement Officer at Sears Holdings and has deep experience in driving digital transformation, developing digital ecosystems, and executing omni-channel campaigns.

Fitzgerald has served on the Toy Industry Association Board, was a co-founder of the Kansas City Race For The Cure, a recipient of the Toy of the Year Award, Wonder Women in Toys Award, Top 50 Women Brand Marketers Award, and the Sears CEO Leadership Award. Julia earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a bachelor’s degree in International Business at The Ohio State University. She earned her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern where she continues to guest lecture on marketing.

Jean is the VP of Customer Experience at Rise Interactive. She played an integral role in founding and establishing the creative team within the full-service digital agency and has remained the team architect over the past eight years. She has managed digital creative and web development accounts across dozens of clients throughout her career. Jean’s passion lies in creating remarkable digital experiences and finding ways to connect with consumers in an ever-changing world.

Lou develops digital strategies for new clients across creative, media, analytics, and technology. While leading creative at Rise, he helped his team gain national recognition with awards from the Webby's, MediaPost, and Digiday, among others. Over the course of Lou’s career, he has served as a digital strategist, creative director, copywriter, designer, account manager, producer, and media buyer. He has developed creative, marketing, and media strategies for Fortune 500 clients across multiple industries including healthcare, financial services, and automotive and also shares his ideas around creative, innovation, and marketing for organizations like the American Marketing Association, General Assembly, and Designation. The thing that makes Lou the happiest at work is helping others be successful.
