  • 37.8% of those celebrating Valentine’s Day will buy flowers, totaling $2.1 billion. 
  • 35.1% will splurge on a special night out, totaling $3.6 billion. 
  • Almost $2 billion will be spent on clothing. 
  • Almost $1.5 billion will be spent on gift cards Men will spend an average of $190.53 on Valentine’s Day this year, versus $96.58 for women.
  • Individuals between 25 and 34 are the biggest spenders, with an average spend of $213.04.
  • More than 190 million Valentine’s Day cards are given each year in the U.S. That number reaches 1 billion if you could the cards school children give to one another.
  • The top ten searches across devices related to Valentine’s Day are for gifts, jewelry, and flowers. 
  • 25% of consumers will shop online 13.3% of consumers will shop at a local or small business.
